About
Akash Sharma is a technology executive who builds complex hardware-software products across the full stack - from chip selection and hardware design through firmware, cloud platforms, mobile applications, and go-to-market.
He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Akteena, a video telematics company that combines dashcam, safety, compliance, and vehicle data capabilities into a single device and platform for commercial fleets. At Akteena, he runs every function - product, engineering, operations, and go-to-market; building the hardware, firmware, cloud platform, mobile SDK, and AI-based computer vision for ADAS and driver monitoring from scratch.
Previously, Akash spent nearly a decade at Azuga, growing from Product Manager to VP of IoT and Innovation on the executive team. He built product lines that contributed 20–30% of company revenue, designed infrastructure that became one of the company’s biggest competitive advantages, and led Azuga’s entry into ELD compliance, dashcam video telematics, and insurance telematics. Bridgestone acquired Azuga for approximately $400 million.
Akash is a named inventor on US Patent US10430745B2, covering a system for evaluating driver performance and determining driver rewards using telematics data; a patent in fleet driver safety scoring and gamification.
He operates in the gap between product leaders and technical leaders where hardware meets software, where engineering meets the customer, and where most products break down. He’s at his best where the product is complex, the customer problem is real, and the company needs someone who figures things out across the full stack.
